I assumed Lykke Li was a variation of Likely. I could be way off though, but Look-ee-Loo sounds obnoxious.

You missed one goldmine of Jeff Buckley bootlegs, my other blog if you'll forgive the plug! http://bootlegsfrombucklberry.blogspot.com/search?q=jeff+buckley

That over and done with, I quite agree with your post in pretty much every aspect. I am rather a completist when it comes to Jeff, and will take good and bad shows, the best are the ones that get by far the most play, but there are gems to be found in the more mundane, run-of-the-mill shows.

Regarding the matter of profiting from Jeffs untimely demise...There was a potential scheme, perhaps 3 years ago, for Mary to release bootlegs via the official website. Only there was a catch. You pay for the privilege firstly, then you only get the better shows the more people you talk into signing up for the scheme. Glad that never came about, as I would have been forced to send Mary and Sony a racoon mask and stripey jumper!

I had read and jotted down the recipe some time ago, and then after reading this post last week, I decided to actually try it.

Of course, I would only be able to eat it if I packed it in my lunch early in the morning and brought it to school. So by that time, the toast was room temperature and slightly less firm than fresh toast, and the veggie dog parts were room temperature and less appealing than they are to begin with (I normally go with MorningStar, and if you did, too, then I DEFINITELY see where you're coming from with the entire definition--especially the "prism shaped" bit). But even in its less-than-perfect state and the faked vomiting noises from my peers at the lunch table, I found it delicious. Weird, yes. But I think your description is on the money.

I love this album. I have also been on a bit of a Scandinavian music obsession and found her while looking up Robyn's new comeback album. It's terrifically weird in all the good ways. Not a typical pop album.

Yous should definitely check out Sambassadeur, The Love Ninjas, and anyone else on Labrador Records, too. Labrador is out of Sweden and they sign a lot of Swedish pop and indie-sounding bands.

I stole the keyboard player's set list after the main performance and felt really guilty when he came back because I wasn't sure if he needed it still. I would have given it back if he'd asked!

The reason I left before the lights came back on was because I had to hurry to catch the last train of the night, which may have been a motivating factor for other people too.

Gotta say, I like it. Its catchy and fun. Sadly, I don't imagine they're abandoning their staple of the slow, boring songs that took up most of Through the Windowpane, but this song gives me hope that perhaps there'll be less of them.

I couldn't agree more - I was looking forward to this concert as one of my highlights of the season but the 'mood' that is so important to the Interpol experience suffered, mostly I feel from the venue and the mix. Add to that crowd members who can't hold their concentration long enough to not have shouting conversations during entire quieter moments such as the highly anticipated (for me anyway) and intense 'Lighthouse, and I was left disappointed after the amazing Enmore concert. Interpol have the potential, with the intensity of their music, smokey and atmospherically lit shows (and yes I admit, extremely sexy outfits and haircuts that make even the most cynical of females fall into a trance-like state of lust:)to be an emotionally intense experience, which is what I always crave from live shows. Its just such a pity that the venue and some of the crowd (around me anyway-often found at Horden shows) killed this potential for many of the songs. Hands down to the Sonic Youth crowd at the Enmore - now that was awesome! If you haven't seen Interpol before and were disappointed - I only hope you get to see them again in a smaller and more intimate venue.

Great review Jonathan - you were obviously in a better spot than I was to appreciate the show a little better! Lesson learnt: always find the really big fans to stand near:)

oh I know that, but apparently that Sea Patrol show was "Critically Acclaimed" pre-airing also... so it makes me wonder about the validity of the people that Network Nine et al give these pre-airing screenings to.
